Temple in Malta & Gozo

 Ggantija, the temple complex of Ggantija (Gozo) is considered to be very impressive and well-preserved above cult facility from the Neolithic period.
Before the entrance to the left of the temple is a stone plate with raised edges. Fire traces suggest that fire victims have been performed.

Tarxien

 Tarxien, is located in the midst of modern buildings in the town of Tarxien, which seamlessly together with Paola, the impressive remains of the largest Maltese temple. It consists of six separate temples, in the centuries from 3800 to 2500 BC. may have caused. Three of them are well preserved and partially reconstructed by the other three are still traces.

 Ghar Dalam The caves are located between Tarxien and Birzebbuga, about 1 km from Birzebbuga. Excavations in the 19th Century joined on traces of human dwellings. Experts believe that in Malta lived people before 7200 years. In Ghar Dalam was found various human bones and broken fragments. Archaeological researches has shown that bones of these people come from Anatolia and arrived Malta via Sicily. This cave also provided evidence that between Malta and Sicily existed a land connection before about 11500 years. A former land connection to Africa can not be proven. However, in the amount bones of elephants, hippos, etc.. This indicates at least on a land connection. The geologically development of the island is documented impressive by the various layers of the cave floor. The cave is about 145 m long and in the back are several sub-branches courses.
The front part of the cave is available for visitors. Some of the founded bones you find in the attached museum. You can reach the caves with the bus lines 11, 12, 13, the buses stop in front of the entrance.

Temple

 Bugibba Temple Within the pool facilities at the Hotel New Dolmen are still sparse remains of a Neolithic temple. The facility is beautifully lit and a visit to the evening's worth of the bar you have a clear view of the illuminated complex.

 Borg in-Nadur The temple Borg in-Nadur is approximately 1 km north of Birzebbuga (sign on the northern outskirts note). There are the remains of a rudimentary megalithic temple and the remains of a Bronze Age settlement.
Borg in-Nadur means "stone pile on the hill"

Mnajdra Temple

 Mnajdra Temple About a way you get from the Hagar Qim temple of Mnajdra dating back to 3600 BC. It consists of two adjacent complexes with their own entrances. The outside walls are made of coral limestone and the interior with softer lime. The interior is by Trilithnischen and a window shaped stone, perhaps an oracle hole.

 Ta’ Hagrat Temple The remains of megalithic temples Ta'Hagrat are at the gates of Mgarr (signs note).

Hagar Qim

 Hagar Qim In the near of the village Qrendi ,, lies the stone temple "Hagar Qim." This unit was built in two phases about 2700 years and 2nd phase was built about 3500 years before Christ.
By an unknown reason, the axis of the first temple changed and the length of the temple was changed several times.

In this temple was found a very special altar, which have very beautiful carvings. Until now, however is not clear whether this temple really from this time or whether it was created at a later date. The main entrance to this plant is still very well preserved.

 Skorba Temple The only surviving vestigal Skorba temple is located near the road to Ghajn Tuffieha (signposted). The area is fenced off and not accessible to visitors. A visit must be logged at the Archaeological Museum in Valletta. This plant received researchers at the remains of a wall and foundations from the early phase of megalithic about 5000 years before Christ.

These are the oldest found traces of Malta's past.
